Welcome to Meadowbrook

Dear Meadowbrook Members,

As the Summer season kicks into high gear, we wanted to take an opportunity to express our gratitude for all the great wishes and congratulations which have made Michael’s and my homecoming so special. It is great to be back in Baltimore and to be at Meadowbrook!

We are excited to be part of the tradition that is Meadowbrook: its 80 years as a Summer pool, from the proud history of competitive swimming associated with the facility since the Stephens bought it in 1987 to the sense of calm and escape which settles on folks just relaxing on the beach.

We have made some upgrades since we started in October, hopefully you have noticed the fresh paint in new colors, the fence, the tot lot, the landscaping out front, the expanded offerings in the snack bar and new equipment for upstairs. Unseen, were the repairs to the pools and renovations made necessary by the Virginia Graeme Baker Act which went into effect last December.

While we are proud of what we have accomplished, but we have great plans for the indoor facilities as well. We will drain the indoor pool for one week in August (9-15) so the entire inside of the facility can be painted, necessary repairs made to the lights, and clean the duct work We will carry the color schemes from outside to the inside. We will create a new front desk receptionist area more inviting and easier to use. We have already contracted with a maintenance service for the upstairs equipment, so that by regular and routine visits, the machines can be kept in full function mode. We will continue with our day time and night time cleaning people. And, beginning in September, we are going to open earlier for the Fitness Center on Sundays, at 8 AM, not 10 AM. The pools will still open at 10.

Please find enclosed everything for the 2009-2010 Winter Season. Our early Bird price for either a family or an individual is the best rate you can find in the Baltimore area for what we offer. We look forward to serving your aquatic and fitness needs during the upcoming season.
