·         We will have two stroke clinics BEFORE the season starts...May 24th and 31st

3—5 pm  Indoor Pool at Meadowbrook

·         You may register early by downloading forms  www.mbrook.com  and bringing them to the clinics

Or

 You may pick up a form  at Meadowbrook and return it to Meadowbrook with payment. Registration goes on throughout June but your child needs to be registered before practicing.

 

·         Regular practice will begin Monday, June 1st

 

·         A Mandatory Parent Meeting will be held  June 10th at 6 pm

Coaches:   This year’s coaches will be Michael Sabala, Bethany Wommack, Solomon Sniad, and Kelly Niezer. The team reps are Joe and Michelle Clark.

 

Schedule of meets: We are in Division I of the Central Maryland Swim League: eight year reigning champs !! We will have 5 dual meets and some swimmers will participate in the Divisional and

Individual Championships. Exact warm up times and directions for each meet will be available the week preceding the meet in the Tomato Times, our newsletter.

 

Swim Team Dues:  To be a member of the team, complete the Meadowbrook registration. Please give the registration form and payment to the front desk. You must be registered and paid to participate in practice and to compete in meets. The fee is $75 per swimmer for the season. There is a maximum family charge of $200. All 15-18 year old swimmers’ dues are waived as a thank you for your previous years of commitment to the team. The dues include the team league dues, special insurance required by the league, ribbons, equipment, coaches, end of year picnic, parties etc…...Checks are made payable to Meadowbrook. Swim Lessons: Swim Team should not take the place of swim lessons. We offer group lessons

specifically designed to help our Tomatoes.  Private and semi private lessons are also available. See the bulletin board or ask Cathy Lears for more information concerning lessons.

Group lessons June 9th—July 23rd..Tuesday  Wednesday  Thursday...10 : 30—Noon…$36 per week. We will have groups with Tomato swimmers working on swim team skills. 

 

Swimming is a skill and not a game. For that reason, practice is a very important  part of perfecting those skills. Daily attendance is encouraged. All swimmers must have passed the deep water test to be a

member of the team. We will be helping the youngest swimmers with this the first few days of  practice.

Children may join the team throughout the season.

 

Volunteers: Unlike  other sports it takes many volunteers to make swim meets run smoothly. There is no experience required to time, write ribbons, or work at the table. There will be a mandatory parent  meeting on June 10th at 6 pm. PLEASE ATTEND !!! We have lots of new and exciting

opportunities.

 

Mailboxes:  There will be mailboxes for each team family in the lobby. Check these for information from the coaches or to leave the coaches a note. The Tomato Times will be in your mailbox each week.

 

Vacations:  The line up for each week’s meet is done by Wednesday and the season goes very fast. We need to know when everyone is going to be away so that we can plan for each meet. There will be a “Vacation Log” in the front of the mailboxes. Please log in the meets that you will miss as early as possible. If we do not have your name lasted in the log we will assume that you will be there. Please understand that it is important to let us know when you will be away. We are bound by our line up each week as stated by the CMSL so it is hard to shift things around Saturday morning.

 

Swim Team Suits:  The new team suit is available in the Pro Shop . Girls suits will be $52 and the boys jammers $32. Logoed team caps are $4 . Team gear will be available at the stroke clinics as well as throughout the summer. We have lots of new cool stuff in our new Swim Shop !!!
