Stroke & Turn has changed!!!

We are making some changes to our Lesson and Stroke & Turn programs to make sure the graduates of Meadowbrook Swim Lessons have proficient strokes and turns with a firm grasp on the skills necessary to participate in competitive swimming.  We want a child who goes on to swim for fun or competition to   have success.

Intermediate (also in Group Lessons)

This Lesson group is for children who have graduated from our Beginner Series.  They have a firm grasp on rotary breathing and are ready for more skills and more strokes.  The next stroke to gain proficiency in is Backstroke.  Intermediate students will ultimately go over all the strokes and turns and finishes for each – Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Butterfly.  The Intermediate level will be taught by our lesson instructors and coaches.

The benchmark skill to graduate from Intermediate is a competent grasp of Diving and a Legal Breaststroke Kick.

Intermediate is taught on a 6-week session schedule.

The lessons are 40 minutes long and the cost for a 6-week session is $120.

Swim Practice – Intro Level

This group is for children who have passed the Intermediate Level and have been evaluated by one of our coaches.  This group will introduce the skills needed to complete a Swim Practice: proper send-offs and finishes, use of a pace clock, and interval training.  Each practice will have a skill focus.

NOTE:  If a swimmer still needs to learn one of the competitive strokes they should remain in the Intermediate Level until they are ready.

This group is for children 7-12 years oldSwim Practice – Intro is taught on a 6-week session schedule.  The practice is offered once per week and is 45 minutes in length and the cost for a 6-week session is $120.
